We travel the globe, searching for farmers whose crops are often too small to grab the attention of the conventional coffee trade. With this practice, not only do we responsibly procure the finest Arabica beans for our customers, we also help sustain the farmers and the communities in which they live. The bean selection process begins in our lab in Lambertville. We subject green, unroasted coffee to an in-depth series of tests measuring bean quality, consistency and potential. Then we meticulously roast and cup every sample that shows promise. When we find a bean we like, we explore its roast latitude with additional cupping and tasting, determining the optimum roast that presents each bean at its best.

Our outstanding selection of sustainably grown coffees and teas is complemented by our comprehensive inventory of the best brewing equipment. Sonja and Paul moved to the United States 20 years ago, and in a “now or never moment” both followed their dreams and changed careers to start this apparel brand.

Toobydoo is all about the active kid and the fun of play. Styles are made with quality fabrics – ready for imagination, play & easy washing!  In his designs Paul is inspired by modern art and architecture – every design, every stripe, every pattern, every color combination you see in the store was designed in-house.

The brand has been featured in many magazines from Vogue to InStyle to Parents, and has been seen in feature films, on the red carpet  and in a White House photoshoot.

After launching the brand in Barneys, Saks, Neiman Marcus & various pop-ups. it was time to open a flagship store. With its diverse International community, Palmer Square in Princeton was the perfect place.

Thomas Sweet Chocolate

Yankee Doodle Tap Room

Tokens that tell the story of the restaurant adorn the walls throughout. Historic photos from the Edgar Palmer collection, and those of famous Princeton alumni who have frequented the Yankee Doodle Tap Room, immediately greet you when you enter. Located behind the bar is the largest Norman Rockwell mural. The 13-foot painting took the artist nine months to complete. Unfortunately, once finished it was a little too large for the space and had to be trimmed. The painting fits with the historic theme depicting Revolutionary people celebrating in authentic attire and adds to the ambiance of an English tavern.

At the far end of the room is a working fireplace with the inscription “Rest Traveler, Rest, and Banish Thoughts of Care; Drink to Thy Friends and Recommend Them Here,” which dates back to 1756, when the Nassau Inn was located on Nassau Street, before it moved to Palmer Square in 1937

Zoe

It packed all its style into a mere 600 square-feet in the heart of downtown Princeton. Since then, the ZOË boutique has not only added shoes and accessories to its inventory, but it has also acquired more space. A couple of big moves (across the street in 1998 and across the other street in 2004) and one recent move in summer 2017, up to the bustling and exciting Nassau street sector of Princeton.

With its swelling space and repertoire, ZOË has become Princeton’s very own style landmark. The woman who made it all possible is owner Lisa Brock, a graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology. For the past twenty years, Brock has combined her design expertise and business instincts to transport high fashion to what used to be the unfashionable “burbs.” Her finger always on the pulse to keep only the freshest looks hanging from ZOË’s racks.

What sets the ZOË boutique apart from its look-a-likes is the unique collection of designers, ranging from Chloé to Dense Lente, Zimmermann to Alexander Wang, Nili Lotan to Ulla Johnson. Even more distinguishing is its customer. Unlike the typical high-end boutique that services women in their 20s and 30s, ZOË’s customer is anyone from the precocious teen to the groovy matriarch. It isn’t clear which came first-does ZOË carry this diverse label load to accommodate its varied patrons? Or are ZOË’s patrons varied because the store’s selection is so wide and deep? Either way, it’s a marriage that works.

It’s more than the Paris shows and the eclectic designer showcase that make ZOË the shopper’s dream. It’s Brock’s eye that is the muscle of the whole operation. ZOË is the only boutique that houses it all…and the best of it all. If every brand is selling its own story, then Brock chooses the best chapters from each and combines them to tell her own-a tale she likes to call…ZOË.

Nassau Inn

When Judge Thomas Leonard passed away in 1759, his elegant residence became a hostelry, which was called College Inn by its new owner. The Inn’s first proprietor was Christopher Beekman, whose natural talent as a host soon established the Inn as the center of the town’s life. Wine and argument flowed freely in Beekman’s taproom, or drinking room, where his wife helped tend the punchbowls. Students and townsmen were treated to the news and opinions of honored guests such as Paul Revere, Robert Morris and Thomas Paine, who stayed the night more than once.

In 1775, the Committee of Safety met at College Inn, and a few weeks later, delegates were stopping overnight on their way to the first Continental Congress in Philadelphia. Signers of the Declaration of Independence, passing through Princeton in 1776, rested at College Inn.

As the war began, military men took the place of travelers. Officers of the Continental Army, as well as the British and Hessians (depending upon which side was in possession of the town), found solace in the taproom offerings. Months later, the Battle of Yorktown and the signing of the Peace Treaty were properly celebrated over College Inn punchbowls. When the Continental Congress met in Princeton in 1783, the national celebrities of the day were guests of the Inn, which was just a few steps from the historic session in Nassau Hall. At the turn of the 19th century, Christopher Beekman and his wife, Grace Otis Beekman, retired. John Gifford took over the hostelry, changed its name to Nassau Inn and hung a sign picturing Nassau Hall over its entrance.

The 52 Nassau Street establishment closed its doors in 1937, when it had become evident that the town and the University needed a larger, comfortable, and more modern hotel, one that would preserve the traditions of “Old Nass” while providing suitable suites for travelers and college guests. The construction of Nassau Tavern, which was eventually changed to the Nassau Inn, on Palmer Square was the result.

When it comes to describing the Nassau Inn, it could be said that the myth has been modernized. Our charming stone façade gives way to a spacious, stylish hotel awash in boutique comfort and sophistication. It is a place where visitors can host a cutting-edge sales presentation or gather ’round the massive stone hearth for cocktails and conversation as Paul Revere and Thomas Paine did at the original 52 Nassau Street location nearly 260 years ago. Some might find that a glass of wine, a good book and an overstuffed couch in the parlor are all the nightlife they need. Others may ask us to reserve them a table in our beloved Yankee Doodle Tap Room Restaurant or help them plan a chic, stylish wedding for 200 family and friends.

A true family business, Beth’s daughters Leslie and Lellie grew up in the shop. Memories were built within its walls and meetings were always planned around naptime. After exploring other passions, Leslie and Lellie decided to follow in their mother’s footsteps and run Dandelion together. Today, our Palmer Square store joins two locations in Pennsylvania. We strive to stay on the cutting edge of fashion, providing visibility for new artists and accessibility for our customers to stay ahead of the trends. At the forefront of the new ice cream wave, Gab & Matt made it (& continue to appear) on countless “best of” lists – including a “best of NYC” in New York Magazine (for their semi-regular pop-up at the New Amsterdam Market from 2009-2012) and New Jersey Monthly’s “best ice cream” 14 years in a row.

Since the beginning, there have been so many partnerships and collaborations with various organizations including Princeton University, NOFA-NJ, Fair Food Philadelphia, Slow Food USA (the founder, Carlo Petrini visited the store!) and Gab even went on a trip to the White House in 2011 to join Michelle Obama’s ‘Chefs Move to Schools’ Initiative. They had a glorious Vespa motor scooter with an ice cream sidecar (currently retired) that showed up at all kinds of events from Phillies games, to weddings, to farmer’s markets, and to grand benefits. They continue extend their philanthropy to a myriad of environmental and local land preservation groups, and also send love to their furry friends through a ongoing donation from the proceeds of a special “puppy ice cream” made for dogs. One of the most impactful partnerships continues to be with Princeton’s legendary natural food store, the Whole Earth Center, where for nearly 10 years they have worked together on a special pint project to help fund Princeton’s school garden programs.

Highlighting relationships and community is the centerpiece of how they source ingredients, support local farms, seek out producers who share similar ideals and try to make some sort of social impact through ice cream. Gab and Matt set out to create a place where those ingredients show off all that the great garden state has to offer and also to be a little place of joy for all those who visit the tiny shop on Palmer Square.

Mediterra

They came to the United States in 1960 and by the mid-1970’s, Teresa and Raul opened the very first “Teresa” – an Italian specialty food store. We worked alongside our parents when not in school, learning how to cook in the tradition and heritage of our ancestors. That’s where we acquired our passion for fresh food and a dedication to provide warm and welcoming service. In 1982 our love of food led us back to our roots and we opened “Teresa II”, the first restaurant in the Terra Momo Group. We continued to create exciting dining experiences spanning cultures: Teresa Caffe, Mediterra, Eno Terra, and now a tapas and wine bar named Albariño.  Our bakery, The Terra Momo Bread Company, supplies the restaurants daily. Whenever possible, our own Canal Farm located in Kingston, NJ provides the restaurants with fresh produce.  While the flavors and themes vary – from Italian to Spanish to Mediterranean – they all share the Terra Momo vision of quality, creativity and exceptional service.
